Here is an aircheck of Bruce Bond on Wink 104, from what I believe to be February 1994. This was recorded from about 35 miles north of Harrisburg. I used to listen to The Late Afternoon Show all the time as a kid in the 90's. Bruce Bond was one of the people who inspired me to start a career in radio. Harrisburg radio will never be the same without him. I will keep looking for more tapes. Please let me know if you have any area airchecks, especially WNNK and WQKX of Sunbury. I would love to hear them.

Posted by: Don Yeager (DYeager@sbgtv.com) A Harrisburg institution has shut its doors after 70 years of business. Harrisburg Radio Lab has closed. The mom and pop shop repaired and sold electronics and had been at it since 1944. The owner says several factors contributed to the store closing. "I think shopping trends have really changed a lot of people always had it in their head that the big box stores are cheaper than a mom and pop store like we are or a family owner business or a local business and that wasn't true but this generation seems to have it in their head that that was true," said owner Bob Quick. Quick also says he is going to spend some time with his family before finding another job.
I was tuning around the bands and came across Radio Australia broadcasting on 21.740 MHz. I was a bit surprised of the signal strength given that I'm receiving with a dipole that's only 30 feet off the ground. My receiver is located in Harrisburg, PA, USA.
